Lightnin'
Hey Lugnuts, I found something you should see. Concerning Lightnin', the article you created way back when, I stumbled upon this "new" article, Lightnin' (play), which is just about the play. I already knew about your article, since I've edited it myself. Your article is about the 1925 film, where this "new" article pre-dates that by seven years, as it's about the 1918 play. So, should the "new" article be merged into yours, or does your article move to Lightnin' (film), and/or does it became a disambiguation page instead? What should be done? Would appreciate a response. Thanks! Best, --Discographer (talk) 03:57, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
January 2014
Your recent editing history at Winx Club 3D: Magical Adventure shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Bailmoney27 talk 17:47, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Indian cricket team in South Africa in 2013–14
On 9 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Indian cricket team in South Africa in 2013–14, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the first Test of India's 2013–14 series against South Africa saw wicket-keepers from both teams bowling in the same match for the first time ever in Test cricket? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Indian cricket team in South Africa in 2013–14. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

- Ymblanter, please, stop striving to save the status quo of the information in the article and to protect the position of Lugnuts (and, probably, yours). This looks really strange, that a phrase of who-knows-who has a great importance, but a historical mistake is a trivia. It's obvious, you hadn't made any attempt to solve the question. I've given a link to the subsection Nazi Germany and World War II (1933-45) of the article about the Third Reich's flag. The next is mentioned there: the flags for use on sea had a through and through image, so the "left-facing" and "right-facing" version were each present on one side while the national flag was right-facing on both sides. Hence, a sea flag couldn't be used in Belarus, only the "right-facing" flags could be used here. If even this information isn't enough, I can give you a link to the law about this flag (in German). Suppose, it's enough to disperse your stubbornness to accept obvious things now.--Dalakop (talk) 15:23, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

The article George Holt (actor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unsourced = hearsay.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi 15:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Please do not request revdel or suppression via ANI
Hello Lugnuts, I've handled the suppression request you made on ANI today because I happened to check that board, but I'd like to ask you to please, please not report these things on noticeboard in the future. As the huge red edit notice says when you click "edit" on ANI: "If the issue concerns a privacy-related matter, or potential libel/defamation, do not post it [on ANI]. If you need an edit or log entry to be deleted or suppressed (oversighted), or for any privacy-related matter, please e-mail the relevant diffs internally via this form or to oversight-en-wpwikipedia.org
. If a suppression action is pending, consider asking an administrator privately to delete the revision in the meantime. Revision deletion may also be requested privately via IRC: #wikipedia-en-revdel connect."
Placing suppression requests on ANI does not notify the oversight team in any way, and the only thing it tends to accomplish is publicising information that you want to be hidden. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 21:32, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Geography of the Heart
Hi, I need help and I will be really grateful of you if you can help me in this matter. The problem is that I created an article Geography of the Heart in August 2013, its like an anthology film but with no release date announced at all and only some parts had been shot and others are still in pre-production. Let me clarify that the first part was shot in early 2010. The trailers for two segments were released in 2010 and 2012 respectively. The sources which I found and added in the article are not that much reliable and some are very poor. I searched but there is not much information available about this film and most of what is available is unreliable and contradict each other. Now there is user Juliakramer who is only editing on this article and removing most of the data and all the sources completely and in edit summary state that The producers and have updated with CORRECT information and The legal producers have corrected this page. I tried to clean up the article as much as possible and removed most of the contradictory and unsourced information from the article. What I want from you is that can you take a look at the article and give me some pointers to improve it, anything. I would be really grateful.--Jockzain (talk) 19:46, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Well the cat Academy Award for Best Assistant Director has almost every name now!
Took a little break but added another one, on a interesting note-Russ Saunders had a page but was linked wrongly all this time and there was a mistake for years where a winner who had no page was in fact someone who never even was nominated for a Oscar! Last night I added Orville O. Dull. All that is left now is-Percy Ikerd, Arthur Jacobson, Edward Killy, Frank Shaw, William Cannon, Charles C. Coleman and Hal Walker. Of course check around to see if they might actually have one. Good luck on any new pages. Wgolf (talk) 20:12, 12 February 2014 (UTC) Well added another, now a couple of them seem to have done quite a few and I don't feel like doing that much info, but one odd one is Frank Shaw where it is the case of multiple people with that name on the IMDB, where the one who is linked as being nominated is one I'm not sure if he is the correct one as the earliest credit is from the 40s where another one has credits from the 1920s. Hiya
Thanks for all your good work as usual. Just stumbled across a fencer bio with the too-trivial-to-mention wrong accent Jenö Szántay should be Jenő Szántay like five others correct in Category:Hungarian fencers. Your next edit-war
This does not apply to AfD. I thoroughly explained in the description of changes:
- "Main article: Human rights with LGBT situation. LGBT it's a minor issue for the state, can not be used in the main template of state"
- "Template state topics concerns important issue for the state, and does not include all relate articles - to all relate articles are the categories".
LGBT situation, pedophilia situation, situation of capital punishment and other has too little importance for the main template of state. To these articles, categories (of state) are sufficient. Subtropical-man talk

Just to note, I've promoted this to Good article. Nice work!
Also, I commented on that AfD. Nominator is an ass, but it might be worth redirecting in the short term to make sure people find the currently better source for the history. Or the information could be copied over, with appropriate notes as to source of text. Adam Cuerden (talk) 22:02, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Talk page header
That's deep nerdery there, but it's a bit WP:BITEy (OTRS got email). Any chance you could choose another quote some time, or at least just attribute it with a link? The Attention Scum one is even more confusing as the article doesn't reference original either as far as I can see. Appreciate the joke, but it's not going to be obvious to anyone who hasn't seen Full Metal Jacket. I'm not going to make a Federal case of it but it does score high on the WTF-O-Meter for newbies. The Selfish Giant (2013)
I would like to respectfully ask that you remove references to the Oscar Wilde short story of the same name in the contribution for the film The Selfish Giant (2013). Any one who has read the story and seen the film can plainly see that the only connection between them is the use of the same title. The following review from the FT is helpful I think.

Templates for winners of best visuals, makeup and sound editing?
These 3 don't have templates yet-think someone should make them? Makeup probably be the easiest given the complicated history of visuals (and sound editing) So perhaps you could start them? (I'm really not sure how to make these). Wgolf (talk) 18:20, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
Added the template for best makeup
Yeah now adding it to pages-though some winners don't have links listed-maybe they do have pages, not sure (Sometimes you have the problem that one does have a page but the name is spelled differently or a misprint, like all these years on film editing there was a rather amusing misprint of someone named Newcom spelled as Mewcom!) Though the thing is that the makeup page does not have any redlinks so there you go. Wgolf (talk) 18:54, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Mystery Road - your plot is just wrong
the plot in your article version of article is totally wrong. couple of examples:
- wayne wasn't executed
- johnno didn't say anything about robbo in a chinese bar
- moreover johnno not only didn't offer help to jay but mentioned his daughter in a threatening way
i think you should watch the movie again (and correct the plot) or we must have seen some two totally different versions.

Well added one Oscar nominee who I am surprised had no page until now.
Okay so granted Ernest Miller had only 1 nomination, but looking over his filmography on the IMDB-this guy had over 300 credits! I don't feel like doing the filmography, but I am linking his name to a bunch of stuff right now. I have added several other nominees as of late, but yeah this guy I think could have a decent page if some people look into this. (Another person I'm surprise right now has no page is the costume winner Bill Thomas). Wgolf (talk) 18:28, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Well one page I added for a Oscar winner has the same name as someone else and its confusing now to figure out which is which
As I added the 3 make up winners for Braveheart (everyone else had a page-someone else was not linked though to the Oscars so I changed that), 2 of the 3 were easy, while Peter Frampton (make-up artist) was just plain odd, I put the info I could get and then noticed how oddly some of the info on the IMDB was similar to the singer's, even somehow had the same date of birth and place of birth, so this page is kind of odd, its like how there is that sound mixer named Theodore Soderberg who looks to be 2 different Oscar winners with the same name but just one page is there. But yeah this is odd, trying to find info online is getting tough too. Wgolf (talk) 22:03, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
Edward V of England
You are the one who had added the same unsourced material 7 times in less than 48 hours. I was unaware of the WP:3RR, so am not going to break it now, yet you were no doubt aware, and yet have broken it twice over. Searching through Wikipedia Policy, I also noticed the WP:BURDEN rule, which means that the burden of the proof is on the person who adds or restores material to provide a WP:RS. UNsourced material may be removed, and it is up to you to properly source it if you wish it to be restored. 41.133.0.152 (talk) 09:03, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
Okay here-an incomplete list of Oscar winners with no pages yet
So I felt like doing this right now-I might add some soon, but here is an incomplete list of Oscar winners without a page, though first one is not a Oscar winner, Edward Cronjager is one to think about adding soon. Okay here:
Edward Stevenson (costume designer), Bill Thomas (costume designer), Phyllis Dalton, Tim Chappel, James E. Newcom, William Holmes (film editor), Charles Nelson (film editor), Thomas Stanford (film editor), Henry Berman, Frank Santillo, Carl Kress (film editor), Scott Conrad, Glenn Farr, Stephen A. Rotter, Tom Rolf, Paul LeBlanc, Zoltan Elek, Stephan Dupuis, Steve La Porte, Robert Short (make-up artist), Manlio Rocchetti, Lynn Barber (make-up artist), Jeff Dawn, Christine Blundell, Trefor Proud, Peter Owen, John Jackson (make-up artist), Beatrice De Alba, Valli O'Reilly, Bill Corso, Howard Berger, Barney Burman, Dave Elsey, Lisa Westcott, Mike Salem, Karen Baker Landers, Stephen Hunter Flick, Bill Warrington, Eustace Lycett, Kit West, Gene Warren, Jr., Jill Quertier, Brigitte Broch, Gordon Sim, Grant Major, Dan Hennah, Kim Sinclair, Gene Havlick
Feel free to add any of these as well.
Problem with editors and cinematographers is the fact there are so many pages that link to them. Then there are those who have pages but might not be linked yet as well as those who might have a different spelling of the name, ect. Which I was going to add Charles Nelson (film editor) last night but yeah he had so many films.
Oh and while I'm at it-here are some winners I have recently added (I've also added some nominees as of late, but I'm just mentioning winners for now-though I could mention those sometime, like the editor of Miss Daisy I added last month for example).:
Elizabeth Haffenden, Emile Santiago, Norma Koch, John Bright (costume designer), Kevin Haney, Yolanda Toussieng, Lois Burwell, Peter Frampton (make-up artist), Paul Pattison, David LeRoy Anderson, Peter King (make-up artist), Julie Dartnell, Bruce Nicholson

I put this message on the talkpage for Mexico at the 2014 Winter Paralympics already, but I would like for you to see it since you created each entry for the countries at the games.

Richard Tyler (sound engineer) started his career in 1932 as a sound engineer, highly unlikely he is alive still. (Though the sound editor of Angels with Dirty Faces is actually alive still, but that was in 1939) But yeah, I never would do this unless if I'm positive this guy has passed, unless if there is any evidence of a Richard Tyler turning 100 in the past few years. Well for some names it is getting harder to not find anything other then the IMDB and the official Oscar pages
Which now I'm getting my pages tagged for the lack of references, so I have no clue what else to put-you can check some of them but yeah it is hard for some of them. (For some I'm just finding other links that are just a little snippit of the person that will say something like "Male, dob, job" that's it so yeah I have to use the IMDB in that case. Hi. Would you care to weigh in on this discussion? It concerns whether a particular review quote should be removed from an article. Dan56 (talk) 11:21, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
- In one sentence: An editor removed this review quote from the article's reception section, because he felt the critic was an inappropriate source (which I in turn proved otherwise at this discussion/consensus), but now their argument has become something like "the quote adds nothing to the article". Dan56 (talk) 11:33, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
What would be the right category for a German visual effects artist?

Hey Lugnuts, how's it going? I was wondering, how come you moved Leopold Maier-Labergo to Category:Year of death missing. You know, by Wikipedia's rationale, aside from the fact that he's not only merely dead, he's really, most sincerely dead. Canadian Paul 20:08, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
- Eh, technically he should still be in PLP, by the category's criteria, but I'm having someone look into his death anyways (he lived in Canada and, presumably, died there), so I'm not exactly going to rush to change it back. Canadian Paul 20:14, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Hey Lugnuts, 2007-2012 ICC World twenty 20 statistics and records pages do exists with elaborated statistics, so only thing is 2014 stats page is empty, based on your message i've updated that page.
Well adding editors and cinematagrophers does get tough for this reason
Trying to link to all of there pages-like I have considered adding Ted D. McCord, but that guy has over 150 credits. Which yeah it gets crazy. Quite a few people I'm surprise don't have pages yet, still for the most part I've added tons recently. Just in the past few days I've added endless amounts, but its getting to where the remaining ones have way to much or not that much info. (Though I did add a editor who only had 3 film credits one day) Wgolf (talk) 23:16, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I have made a few DAB pages for some as well-one guy was getting different links to him for example. The toughest actually was for Joseph C. Brun, due to the fact the guy has French films under different names so I was not sure if they have pages or not. Wgolf (talk) 23:23, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Almost all the assistant directors are added
One I've having problems with though is Frank Shaw, it is obvious the IMDB page that has the one that won is a completely different person as the one they have that won was a producer in the 40s. I'm leaving alone the dance direction pages for people that can get info on the Broadway people (such as of course they wont have a lot of IMDB credits but tons of plays from those times) Hopefully we can get every Oscar nominated person and film by the end of the year.
The shorts are the ones I'm kind of avoiding. (There are 3 films from the 70s nominated for best song that don't have pages, if they were in the 80s I might of actually heard of them given the fact I was born in the early 80s) Last night I also was checking up on old B-Movies that were having pages linked to other people when they would only have one or 2 real credits. Take a look at Category:American novelists - a while back we cleared it out and put everyone in by-century cats, ethnicity cats, gender cats, and genre cats (that way, no-one could complain that their novelist didn't get to live in Category:American novelists. For poets it may be a bit simpler, although we're dividing by state which is a little odd, but c'est la vie, if you wanna do the work and will be touching lots of bios, might as well sort them in all of the diffusing and non-diffusing cats of the parent, like century, gender, ethnicity, etc. I made a container for the the by-ethnicity cats together as well, fwiw.--Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 21:08, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

- Splitting by century for poets may be a little harder than it was for novelitsts. Novels by their very nature are long and involved. Also while doing this we may want to remove some poets - writing a poem or two doesn't a poet make, we should ensure that RS really describe them as poets.--Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 00:14, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Well I've added some full length Oscar noms as of late
Which the ones I've added recently are: Sand, This Woman is Mine, Storm Over Bengal and Hitchhike to Happiness. I've also added a couple short films.
In other news I added a page for Robert MacDonald and realized a very similar name also nominated for visuals (yeah common name I know) that seemed to be the same person. A few people I've added I have been unable to find that much about like Nena Danevic who I added last week had only THREE film credits. While others like Randall William Cook, Eustace Lycett and Robert Lawrence I'm surprised had no pages yet. (Check my articles created under my contributes for more of them so you can look around) There still are a few unadded films, mostly from the early 40s under the score category. (The only film that was not nominated in a short cat, foreign film, any of the 3 musical cats or dance direction that has no page yet is Captain Eddie.-or at least I think it is. )

Disambiguation link notification for March 30
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hugh Jones (cricketer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chatham (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Well costumes and makeup are 2 cats that are almost complete
If you want to add any remaining names go ahead, one thing I ran into is how some of them have links to other people (which I have made a few DAB pages for some) and/or at one point were a deleted page. Visual effects I've been slowly adding but that is the biggest one by far. (Oh and Production design still has a few and I think there is one sound mixer still without a page)
Last night I linked up a bunch of best story nominees that were not linked to the nomination page.
But yeah feel free to do any left over ones. Wgolf (talk) 19:21, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
